SIMON JORDAN, JR. APR 6, 1960 - SEPT 28, 2010 Simon Jordan, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2010. He was born in Ceres, CA, on April 6, 1960 to Simon Jordan Sr. (deceased) and Novella Jordan. He graduated from Ceres High School in 1978. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from San Francisco State University, a Masters Degree from Norfolk State University, and a PhD from the University of Phoenix, where he worked as a Professor of History. He believed in higher education and was willing to do whatever he could to assist young people in achieving higher learning. He was world educated, having lived in several places throughout the United States, including California, Michigan, Virginia, as well as abroad in Guam. He eventually settled in Las Vegas, Nevada with his beloved pets, Poncho, Gidget, and El Nino. In addition to loving his work, he enjoyed traveling all over the world, where he met and established lifelong friendships. Simon was a supporter of many charities, including the Boys and Girls Club, Rescue Mission, and his church. He was very charitable to his family, friends and his community. He leaves to forever cherish his memory, his devoted mother, Novella C. Jordan; siblings, James Manor (Shelia), Jerry Jordan, Dorothy Thomas, Blanche Mayberry (Jerry) and Haryah Jordan; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, co-workers, and his church families at Victory Baptist Church in Las Vegas, and Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Modesto. Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 530 4th St., Modesto, CA 95351.
