Virginia Stambaugh Obituary

VIRGINIA GINNER'' STAMBAUGH OCT 7, 1918 - SEPT 16, 2010 Virginia Ginner'' Stambaugh, 91, died September 16, 2010 at her daughter's home in Farmington, Michigan. Born Virginia Graham in Manteca, CA, she married her high school sweetheart, Winfield Stambaugh. They lived most of their lives in Modesto and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1989, shortly before his death. Ginner was a graduate of Modesto High School, attended Modesto Junior College, and worked as a telephone operator in her early years. She was a long-time member of Eastern Star and the First Congregational Church of Salida. Ginner volunteered at Memorial Medical Center where she was honored for her many years of service and for the remarkable amount of blood and platelets she donated regularly. In addition to her daughter Diane Hart (Tom), she is survived by her sons Gary (Joan) of Stockton, and Darrel (Diane) of San Jose. Her extended family includes 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and admired her eternal optimism and strength. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 4825 Broadway, in Salida. Lunch will follow in the church social hall. My Dear Aunt Ginner was a truly kind and wonderful woman with love for all. I am so happy my children were able to know her. We will always remember GinnerFest in Lake Tahoe for her 80th birthday. I cherish all my memories of her. An amazing woman.
