Wanda Logsdon Obituary

WANDA FAYE LOGSDON MAR 17, 1932 - JAN 1, 2011 Wanda passed away on January 1, 2011 at home surrounded by the family that she loved and cherished. She was born in Poteau, Oklahoma on March 17, 1932, one of nine children. The family moved out to California in 1942 and settled in Delano. It was there years later, while working as a waitress that she met Edmund Hurley. They married in 1950 and went on to have 3 children together-Eddie Mack, Lamont and Myrna. They would eventually make their home in Groveland, Ca. at the end of Powderhouse Road, where the asphalt ended and the forest began. After the kids grew up, Wanda and Ed separated. Though they were no longer husband and wife, they would forever remain close friends. Wanda met and fell in love with Jesse Logsdon and they were married in October of 1975. They lived in Modesto where for years, Wanda waited tables at the S.O.S Club. After they both retired, the two moved back to Groveland to spend the next several years enjoying family-most especially the grandchildren that they both adored. She will always be remembered for feeding anybody that came through her door. We will never forget her beans and cornbread, fried okra and the best chicken and dumplings ever made! Jesse and Wanda moved back to Modesto and then to the beautiful propery on the river in Oakdale where they both spent their final days. Jesse died on July 17, 2010 and Wanda went soon after to be with him. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Elliot, her children, Eddie Mack Hurley, Lamont Hurley, Myrna Stalder, Linda Phillips, Betty Croslow, and Mearl Logsdon, her 13 beloved grandchildren, Zack Shea Hurley, Gretchen Hurley, Nathan Hurley, Mathew Hurley, Shelby Hurley, Myranda Stalder, Andrea Fuller, Tom Phillips, Erin Boldue, Kim Casto, Brian Logsdon, Krystal Logsdon, Dallas Logsdon, and her two great grandchildren, Bobbi Fuller and Mackenzie Phillips and many friends and extended family. We will all love and miss you every day. An open house memorial for family and friends to share memories will be held on Sunday, January 23 between 1:00-3:00pm at 7761 Rodden Rd., Oakdale, Ca. www.modbee.com/obituaries
