Willard Larry Summerlot

WILLARD LARRY SUMMERLOT NOV 5, 1937 - FEB 15, 2011 Larry, as he was known to family and friends, passed away at English Oaks, Modesto, California after a short illness and complications of Parkinson's Disease at age 73 years. He was born in Gary, Indiana and at age 12 his family moved to California. He attended school in Merced and Hilmar. He was pre-deceased by his father, Gilbert Summerlot, mother Genevieve Jarrett Summerlot Mears, step-father Delbert Mears, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Summerlot. He is survived by wife, Louise and six children. Sons: Michael, Mark and Mathew; daughters: Pamela Severs, Pat Cancimilla and Penny Shabazian; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also, he is survived by brothers: David Summerlot, Pocahontas, IL and Kenneth Mears, Sacramento, CA and their families. His hobbies were restoring and collecting old cars and music of the 50s and 60s era. As an active member of the community, he contributed his time and effort to support benefits and other activities as DJ Larry the Rockin' Rebel''. Larry rarely met a stranger for long as his warmth, character and sense of humor soon made him a friend. He was a loving, giving-husband and father whose passing leaves a void in the lives of his family that may never be filled. A Celebration of Life will be held in May 2011.
