Elizabeth Louisa MacFarlane Debrouwer

ELIZABETH LOUISA MACFARLANE DEBROUWER SEP 26, 1923 - MAY 23, 2011 Elizabeth DeBrouwer, age 87, passed away on Monday, May 23rd. She was born in Nephi, Utah to parents James MacFarlane and Mary Lightner. She moved to California in 1943 and has been a resident of Stanislaus County since 1946. She was a co-owner with her husband Walter of a portrait photography studio in McHenry Village in Modesto, CA. for 18 years. Elizabeth was well known for her oil paintings of children and animals. She taught oil painting at West Coast School of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. She was a speaker and lecturer at many photography symposiums thru out the western states. Elizabeth received her degree of Photographic Craftsman in 1968. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Modesto 2nd Ward, Genealogical Society of Stanislaus County, National Genealogical Society, The Mayflower Society, Colonial Dames of Seventeenth Century, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter DeBrouwer; daughter, Delores Debrouwer; sisters, Thora Lindblom, Marie Cloward; and brother, James MacFarlane. Elizabeth is survived by numerous family members and friends. A graveside service will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe, Hughson, CA.
