CHARLES "CHUCK" GEORGE
JULY 7, 1929 - APRIL 18, 2014
Chuck went home to be with the Lord at the age of 84. He passed away at the Hospice House in Hughson surrounded by his family.
He was born to Fred and Blanche George in Huntington Park, CA, where he grew up with three sisters and graduated from Bell High School.
Chuck served in the Army during the Korean War. Upon his discharge he went to work for N.I. Industries in Vernon, CA. Chuck met his wife, Margie, working at the Vernon plant. Chuck later moved to Modesto to work at N.I. Industries Army Ammunition Plant in Riverbank. He enjoyed his work as a Chief Tool Press Engineer. Chuck was a quiet man and a good worker. He worked for N.I. Industries for a total of 50 years.
He was a wonderful husband and devoted father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Chuck and Margie belonged to Young at Heart exercise group. He was a Kings fan, loved his family and his dog, Hanz.He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Mickey of Folsom, CA.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Margie; his daughter, Linda George Lewis, of Modesto; son, Chuck (Diana) George of San Diego; his three grandchildren, Tyler (Sarah) George, David Lewis and Amy George Wahl, all of Modesto;  one great-grandson, Jax Wahl; as well as sisters, MiMi Rankin, of Coeur d'alene, ID, and Patty (Ira) McDow, of Foothill Ranch, CA.
Viewing will be on Thursday, April 24th from 4:00-8:00pm at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 25th at 11:30am at Salas Brothers with burial to follow at 2:00pm at the Veterans Cemetery, Santa Nella, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, Modesto, CA.
