John Malkai Youkhannah
March 22, 1934 - April 21, 2014
John gave his hand to the Lord and walked towards the rainbow with his family surrounding him peacefully by his side. John was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a respected Jelu in the Assyrian community. John's last wish was to end his battle with cancer on the Holy day of Easter, but his life rested on Easter Monday morning. He loved watching western movies and soccer games; while doing his crossword puzzles. Humble, he also prided himself on his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. We would like to thank all his friends and acquaintances that came to support him during this difficult time.
He was preceded in death by his parents Malkai and Asiat Youkhannah.
Missed by all, he not only leaves behind his friends, acquaintances, and extended family, but also his devoted wife of thirty two years Sylvana; his eight children Eman, David, Susan, Shannyn, Hormiz, Zaya, Tower, and George, including his two granddaughters; Alyssa Tobar and Ashley Garelick; Sister, Victoria Adams and her beloved children; eight brother in-laws, one sister in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Turlock Funeral Home, located at 425 N Soderquist Road, Turlock. Internment will be held at Turlock Memorial Park.
