Irene Alice Mills
January 19, 1935 ~ August 8, 2014
Irene was born in Martinez, CA to the late Clarence and Goldie Burrow and passed away in Turlock after a lengthy illness at the age of 79.  She was the oldest of four children.  Her family settled in Hughson and Irene graduated from Hughson High School.  In 1953 she married Billy Joe Mills and they shared over 60 years of marriage.  Their lives included many years of working together on the family farm.  Irene cherished her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Her hobbies were crocheting, cooking, gardening and reading.  Irene will be remembered for her infectious smile and great sense of humor.
Irene was preceded in death by her sister Colleen Mears and brother Danny Burrow.  She is survived by her husband Billy Joe Mills; children Rhonda Mills of Hughson, Leslee (Marty) Jakosa of Turlock and Jim (Pat) Mills of Hughson; grandchildren Morgan Costa, Reneé (Tom) Fanelli, Brianna Jakosa, Anthony Jakosa, Jodi (Chad) Smith, Will (Cristal) Caldwell and four great grandsons, Hunter, Brody, Brady and Hayden.  She is also survived by her sister Velma Wilkinson.
Our mother was a strong woman that lived honorably with dignity who held on when she didn't think she could and will be forever in our hearts.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days from Community Hospice and Paramount Court Senior Living.
Funeral service will be held at Allen Mortuary 247 N Broadway in Turlock on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Private graveside service will be held for immediate family members at Lakewood Memorial Park.
