Dennis Patalingjug
March 20, 1950 - August 16, 2014
On Saturday, August 16, 2014, the light of our lives was forever dimmed as we lost our amazing husband, dad & papa, Dennis Patalingjug.
Born in Turlock, CA March 20, 1950 to Diosdado Patalingjug & Patricia Goodwin, dad loved all types of music, enjoyed vacationing at Pinecrest, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Hawaii, Capitola, & Seacliff Beach, was proud of his Filipino heritage, loved checking in with friends on Facebook, & was an active supporter of his community through a variety of sports & service organizations.
Dad always stated that his family was his richness.  He is survived by his loving wife Norma, son Jeremy (Kim) Patalingjug, daughter Shelby (Chris) Lipasek, & grandchildren Brody & Ashby Lipasek & Keaton Patalingjug, whom he adored & treasured.  He is also survived by his brothers Cary (Sandy) Patalingjug, Mark (Paige) Gacayan, sister Cecilia (Dan) Liskey, & many more close relatives & friends who will carry his spirit in their hearts always.
Dad was blessed with many special gifts.  He was an incredible storyteller, an awesome cook, handy & inventive, quick-witted & brilliant, the life of every party, a loyal friend, & a dedicated employee of Pacific Telephone/AT&T for 38 years.
Everyone who ever met him was touched by his infectious smile, generosity & the greatness of his heart.  We will hear his laugh when we are struggling through difficult times & be grateful for the beautiful memories created together.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 22nd at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 640 Minaret Ave in Turlock CA, 95380, at 11:00 a.m., with a social gathering to follow.  To honor dad's wish, we encourage the sharing of personal memories & stories.  In lieu of flowers, donations to The or The made in dad's name would be greatly appreciated by our family.
*We would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Emanuel Cancer Center for their excellent care & compassion.
