Nick Joseph Alves, Jr., age 41, beloved husband and father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend passed away peacefully on April 25th after a courageous 11 month battle with Lymphoma.  Nick was born and raised in Modesto and graduated from Grace M. Davis High School in 1989.  Nick loved his  work at the DoubleTree Hotel for 23 years  and developed many long lasting friendships.  His DoubleTree family continues to provide  tremendous support and love for Nick and family.  Nick loved the simple things in life,  family BBQ 's, spending time with his wife & son, playing with his nieces and nephews, and a round of golf now and then.   Nick had no idea how many lives he touched with his gentle spirit and beautiful smile and was amazed by the outpouring of support during his illness.  Nick will remain in our hearts forever and  will be truly missed.  Nick is survived by his wife Patricia, son Kyle,  parents Nick & Mary Alves, sisters Teresa Purcell (Jeff), Sherri Couchman (Greg), Lorraine Carrisosa (Derek), Dena Chapin (Rob), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Rosary & Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 10:00 a.m. at St Patrick's Catholic Church (19399 E. Hwy 120, Ripon)  with interment to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a or Nick Alves Benefit Fund (Bank of the West).
