Ernest "Ernie" Ray Mobley

"Ernie is now rum, rumming on the heavenly streets of gold." Ernest Mobley, age 73, a longtime resident of Turlock, CA lost his battle with Lou Gehrig's disease on January 29, 2013. He was born in May of 1939 to Joseph and Edna Mobley. Ernest was a loving family man who worked as a foreman for Langendorf Bakery out of San Jose, CA for many years. Ernie had a great sense of humor, he was an avid collector of Hot Wheels, and Ernie recently bought himself a Can-Am Spyder motorcycle. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Edna Mobley, his sister Ernestine Jameson as well as his loving wife of 41 years, Lois Kay Mobley. He is survived by his children Kathy and Jeff Nunes of Tracy, Karen Mobley of Modesto, Debbie and Robert Mauch of Modesto, Anna Paterniti of Modesto, his grandchildren, Megan Nunes of Tracy and Melissa Nunes of Quincy, his great grandson, Adam Nunes, and his sisters, Hazel Perdue of Hammond, OR, and Lillian Padilla of Los Angeles. He also leaves behind his loving companion Elaine Amrhein.
Ernest Mobley will be greatly missed by family and friends. A private tribute was held at bedside with Pastor Ron. A procession honoring Ernie's life will begin at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in Modesto. The Funeral Procession will be stopping by some of Ernie's favorite places in Turlock, CA. The procession will start Monday, February 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM beginning at Franklin & Downs Funeral Homes, 1050 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA.
