Roger Wayne Radford, born October 2, 1950 slipped past his family and walked into the arms of God this Monday, September 16, 2013. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Orb Radford and his brother Rick Radford. He is survived by his mother, Tessie Radford and sisters, Bonnie Roberts and Mary Jones as well as his children, Tamara Brown, Jeffery Radford, Phillip Radford and Victor Radford. Roger had numerous beloved grandchildren and recently celebrated the birth of his great grandchild. He is further survived by a niece and three nephews as well as his seven great nieces and nephews. Roger was born in Prineville, Oregon and as a young man joined the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War and was an Honorably Discharged Combat Veteran. He eventually settled in the Modesto area working as an industrial mechanic and foreman. While Roger enjoyed many hobbies his love of building and creating was evident to all who knew him and was his greatest joy, a true "Renaissance Man". A celebration of Roger's life will be held this Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his family home located at 833 Wheatley in Modesto at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the local Community Hospice.
