George Lensie Newton

George Lensie Newton passed peacefully at his home in Ceres, Ca. on Oct. 7, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Los Angeles, Ca. to George and Myrtle Newton May 16, 1937. His family moved to Stanislaus County in 1945. At the young age of 17 George joined the U.S Navy after serving 3 years he settled in Modesto, Ca. where he met and married Ruby his late wife of 51 years.  After retiring from Tri Valley Container Division he enjoyed traveling in his RV, playing Golf and spending time with his family.
George is survived by his daughter Brenda Tackett of Ceres, son Ricky Newton of Ceres, two grandchildren Steven Tackett and Kellie Tackett, three great grandchildren Austin, Lacey and Acen. Girlfriend Geneva Vaughn, Sister Vicky (Nomie) Knoepfel (John) Brothers Jonny Newton (Brenda) Jimmy Newton and Bobby Newton (Connie).
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, his parents George and Myrtle Newton, sister Christine Allen, brothers Cecil Newton and Richard Newton.

Funeral services will be held at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto, Ca. at 1:00pm Tuesday, Oct 15, 2013 followed by burial at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, Ca. Visitation is Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, 4-8pm at Salas Brothers.
