Joseph was born in Sacramento, CA to Jim and Helen Trevena, moving shortly thereafter to Modesto.  Joe (as he became known) attended Sylvan Union School District.  Having lived in Stevinson at the time, he graduated from Hilmar High School, and attended Modesto Junior College. Joe served his country by entering the United States Marine Corp, which included some training with the United States Air Force.  After service to his country, Joe became a public servant entering law enforcement and served the State of California as a California Highway Patrol Officer, from which he retired.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Jane, their son Joshua, his father, Jim (Cathy) Trevena, brother James (Kathryn) Trevena, sister Linda Ford and their families. He is preceded in death by his mother Helen.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson. Joseph was very dedicated to the National Children's Cancer Society.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's memory to National Children's Cancer Society 500 North Broadway Suite 800, St. Louis, MO 63102. Joe will be deeply missed by many, but will forever be in our hearts.
