Kent Anthony Rossi

Kent Anthony Rossi passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the age of 71 in Sacramento. Kent was born on January 8, 1942 in San Francisco, son of the late Anthony and Rosemary Rossi and was raised in Marin County. He graduated from Redwood High School in 1959. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve. Kent started in the mail room for Southern Pacific Railroad while attending University of San Francisco and worked his way up to head of regional sales, when he retired in 1987.
Kent married Judith Brann on April 6, 1968 in Reno, NV. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Fresno and Modesto prior to moving to Riverbank in 1987. He was active in the community through Modesto Rotary, S.O.S. Club, Central Valley Transportation Club, Knights of Columbus, and Friends of the Riverbank Library.
As a long-time member of Del Rio Country Club, Kent loved playing golf. He enjoyed annual trips with his friends to play different golf courses around the western United States. He was a life-long fan of the San Francisco 49ers and spent many Sundays with friends and family at Kezar Stadium and Candlestick Park. Kent also enjoyed traveling with Judy and playing with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He will be remembered for his love of life, contagious sense of humor and his remarkable strength and determination.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Roberta Rasonsky. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Rossi of Riverbank, CA; his children Lisa (Joshua Hohn) Rossi of El Cerrito, CA, and Steven (Marina Canavoso) Rossi of Flagstaff, AZ; sisters Patricia Ammann and Karen (George) Bodenhamer, all of Reno, NV. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Lucia, Santiago and Dante.

A rosary will be said for him on Thursday, December 26, 2013, 7:00 P.M. at Franklin & Downs McHenry Chapel, 1050 McHenry Avenue, Modesto. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013, 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Road, Modesto. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception immediately following the Mass to be held at Del Rio Country Club, 801 Stewart Rd, Modesto.
