James Lolonis
Dec 28, 1923 - Jan 19, 2014
Last Sunday, James Lolonis, fell asleep in the Lord. A quiet and reserved gentlemen. James worked diligently throughout his life to provide for his family and to serve his country while he thanked God for the blessings in his life.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, James understood the importance of protecting the freedoms we enjoy in this great nation. Like many veterans that served during war times, he did not boast of his service record or talk of his war experience. He responded to a call to protect and to serve and did so with humility and respect.
He is survived by his wife, Voula Lolonis, four sons: Tryfon, Johnny, George and Peter, grandchildren: Jimmy, Voula, Theodore, Demetri, Voula, Nick, Demetri, Chrissy, James and Christina and great grandchildren: Yianni, Sofia, Leonidas Kokologiannakis, Evangeline, Tryfron and Vasili. Preceded by Sherri Lolonis and Stefani Lolonis.
A rosary will be held on Sunday, Jan 26, 7pm at Annunciation Church, 313 Tokay Ave., Modesto. Funeral on Monday, Jan 27, 11am also at Annunciation Church. Interment Tuesday, Jan 28, 11:30am at the Greek Cemetery, Colma, CA.
