Marcus Andrew Dubbs passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014, at his home in Modesto at the age of 85.  Marcus was born on July 20, 1928 in Clebourne, Texas.  He was the second eldest of seven children.  Marcus was loved by many and kept his spirits high to the end.
Marcus joined the Air Force in 1948 and served for 23 years.  He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1971.  He moved to Modesto and worked for the postal service for 20 years and retired in 1991.  He married Jane Beeler in 1986. Marcus joined the Catholic Church in 2000.  He was strong in his faith and active with the R.C.I.A program. 
Marcus leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Jane Beeler-Dubbs, his children: Francine Ward (Curt), Mark Dubbs (Pamela), Patty Hall (Randy), Donna Dytor (Scott), and Leonard Dubbs (Carmen), his stepchildren: Robert Beeler (Shari), Patricia Stocks (Laurence), and Kenneth Beeler (Karen), along with 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Marcus also leaves behind his siblings: Tom Dubbs, Harvey Dubbs, Victor Dubbs, Ed Dubbs and Corrine Vogel.  Marcus is also survived by his first wife, Francis DeGrendele Dubbs.   Marcus is preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Campbell, brother, Gene Dubbs, and his grandchildren Nicholas Carter and Alexandra Dubbs.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Franklin & Downs Funeral Home. A visitation is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 10 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM with a rosary starting at 10 AM at Franklin & Downs McHenry Chapel.  A funeral mass is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 10 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Modesto.  In Lieu of flowers, donations in Marcus' name may be made to Community Hospice: 4368 Spyres Way Modesto, CA 95356.
