Omer J. Sullens
December 9, 1930 - March 15, 2014
Omer passed away peacefully at his home in Ceres , CA. He always said "His heart is God's castle". Omer entered the army when he was 17 years old. He served in the Korean War as a First Class Sergeant and earned a Purple Heart for his bravery and service in the army. Unfortunately, he was injured in the army and forced to retire from it. He went on to become a barber and start a family in Missouri. Omer was a family man who enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing. Omer is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Sullens and his two daughters Joanne Worsley and Elaine Sullens. Omer is also survived by his 8 grandchildren Chris Mitts, Trisha Berry, Amy De La Cruz, Axel Kolody, Keri Hernandez, Tara Kolody, Kody Flores and Gerald Worsley. Omer had 9 great-grandchildren, Alyssa De La Cruz, Allison Hernandez, Liliana Kolody, Hailey Hernandez, Italo "JR" Hernandez, Ava De La Cruz, Kento Kolody, Paisley Worsley and Lana Kolody. We know that Omer is an angel in heaven with his late daughter Linda Sullens. He truly will be missed and never forgotten. Franklin & Downs Funeral Home is honored to be serving Omer's family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 4pm - 7pm at Franklin & Downs Ceres Chapel, 2561 5th Street in Ceres. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11am at Ceres Memorial Park, 1805 East Whitmore Avenue in Ceres.
