RICHARDSON, MODESTA (NEWMAN) - BULLHEAD CITY
MODESTA RICHARDSON 1939-2014 Modesta Richardson, 75, was released into the arms of the angels on December 19th, 2014, after being flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas in the early morning of Thanksgiving Day from Bullhead City, AZ. Modesta was born to Violet and Alfred Newman in London, England on January 20, 1939. She was one of 11 children and lived in England until marrying her first husband and coming over to the United States in 1961. She obtained her U.S. citizinship that she was very proud of. She and her husband went on to have three children that were the light of her life. Modesta will be fondly remembered for counting each day as a blessing, her love of family and friends, her generousity and hospitality. Modesta loved life and her home in Arizona, which she shared with her second husband, their two dogs and cat who she cherished immensly. Modesta had a radiant smile that could light up a room, a magnetic personality that never knew a stranger, a beautiful spirited soul, and eyes that twinkled like the brightest stars. She was vibrant, loving and caring. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a wonderful conversation. Modesta's zest for life and her love of family and friends were immeasurable. Her heart of gold was genuine and her faith ran deep that one day she would see loved ones again in Heaven. The Arizona sun and desert night sky were things Modesta appreciated and admired, taking them in often. Her beautiful flower gardens and yard that her and her husband nurtured and cared for brought great joy to her through the years as well as the humming birds and road runners who visited their yard often. Modesta was a thoughtful and devoted wife to her husband Mark of almost 20 years. A dedicated and hands on mother to her 3 children, whom she would tell often that one of the greatest gifts in life was being a mother. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and pride and she enjoyed the precious time spent with each of them. Modesta's interests were flowers, nature, animals, the Royal Family, cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing, music, news and documentaries, and was genuinely concerned with the state of our world today. She was preceded in death by her parents; and several brothers and sisters. Modesta is survived by her husband, Mark; her children Darin (Val) Hill, Dawn Hill, and Dena (Todd) Woolridge; grandchildren, Allysa (Tom) Fedel, Brianna (Kenneth) Fullmer, Natasha Hill (Darin and Val), Chase and Lexie Woolridge (Dena and Todd); step-children, Alan Richardson and Regina Richardson; step-grandchildren, Michael Richardson (Alan), Braxton and Rayana Richardson (Regina); several brothers and a sister; and numerous neices and nephews. Modesta is in the arms of the Angels now, may she find some peace and comfort there. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration Of Life will be held for Modesta at a later date on a beautiful sunny day in Arizona. In memory of Modesta please do a good deed for someone and ask them to pay it forward. She never left a good deed undone.
