ANDREW "ANDY" KOHUT, JR.(1933 - 2013)


~Andrew Kohut, Jr., age 80, a 15-year resident of Laughlin, Nev., passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his home in Laughlin.

~Andy was born on October 21, 1933 in Peckville, Pa. to Andrew Kohut, Sr. and Irene Kohut (both pre-deceased).

~Andy was raised in Rutherford, N.J. He graduated from Rutherford High School, and Fairleigh Dickenson University where he majored in marketing. After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he began a career in advertising with U.S. Testing Corp. in N.J. Andy relocated to St. Petersburg, Fla. with his wife and children. He was an advertising art department manager with the St. Petersburg Times newspaper for 24 years. After retiring in 1993, Andy and his wife moved to Laughlin, Nev. where he actively continued his artwork. He was a gifted artist and did a lot of art for the community, his church and local businesses.

~He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia; six children, sons, Andrew (Diana), Robert (Christine), Paul Andrews (Michele), Chris (Mayumi) and daughters, Janeen Andrews and Lisa Mair; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Jenelle), Bryan, Kevyn, Riley, Robby and Heather; three great-grandchildren, Maegan, Andrew and Liam; and by his sister, Cheryl Knight (Thomas).

~A celebration of his life will be held in the near future (date unspecified).
