Denise Darlene (Doty) Swartzman, age 60, a 33-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed peacefully in her home, on Saturday, September 8, 2012.

She was born in San Fernando, Calif., on August 19, 1952, to Eugene and Maxine Doty and grew up in Newhall, Calif.

In 1972, Denise married Robert Swartzman and in 1976, moved to Mohave County. For over 25 years, Denise owned Dancer's Workshop, she served as Director and on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Colorado River and for 30 years, she was Producer/Director/Owner of the Arizona Cinderella Scholarship Program.

Denise touched the lives of many children and always knew how to make a child feel like they were one-of-a-kind. A humanitarian to the Bullhead City Community in many ways, she worked on Hardyville Days, Winter Festival, countless Boys and Girls Club events and co-directed/choreographed numerous Mohave High School musicals.

In 2011, the Legacy Foundation named the Mohave High School baseball field, the "Denise Swartzman Legacy Field."

She was proud to be a 10-year, pancreatic cancer survivor and was an inspiration to other patients. Denise was "determined, inspirational and believed in miracles…"

Denise is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert; three daughters, Stacey (Clint) Sanderson of Bullhead City, Ariz., Natalie (Brian) Carson of Las Vegas, Nev.and Valerie (Jarred) Hartford of Bullhead City, Ariz; father, Eugene Doty of Newhall, Calif.; brother, Dennis (Jeralyn) Doty of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; sister, Genene (Steve) Staats of Agua Dulce, Calif.; brother, John Doty of Newhall, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Jeffery, Eddie, Julia, Ethan, Blake, Daxton, Connor, Kellan, and a baby granddaughter (due Oct., 2012). The family dog, "Doty" will also miss her.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Aquarius Casino Resort, 1900 So. Casino Drive, Laughlin, Nev., in the "Aquarius Pavilion and Convention Center."
