Georgia Frances Mead, age 87, passed away February 26, 2014 in Bullhead City, Ariz. She was born April 8, 1926 in Los Angeles, Calif. to George and Frances Smith.

The oldest of nine siblings, she looked after the young ones, becoming a great cook and mother figure. Georgia married at seventeen and had two boys, David and Donny, then later divorced. In 1948 she met a burl-digger, Orville Getty in Oregon, who had a girl and boy from a previous marrage, Sydney and Melvin. They then had a son, Gary. She widowed in 1984 and in 1989 she met and married Lloyd Mead. They were happy as snow-birds nearly 20 years, settling in Arizona where Lloyd passed away in 2011.

With gems, beads, shells, jewelry, yarn, paint, pine-needles, etc. Georgia was a master at crafting beautiful creations, nearly all to be given away along with her love.

Georgia is survived by her son, Gary; daughter, Sydney; step-children, Victoria, Debra, Cathleen, Amber, and Brian Mead; siblings, Doris, Bob, Joe, and Ron; 14 grandchildren and 14 step grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all.
