Sharon Kay Woodruff, age 68, an 18-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012, in the comfort of her home in Bullhead City.

She was born on December 26, 1943, in Cambridge, N.Y. She lived and worked in Bullhead City for the past 18 years. Before that she lived in Ukiah, Calif., for over 10 years.

Sharon was a devoted registered nurse, working primarily in the emergency room and hospice care. For several years Sharon worked as a traveling nurse in hospitals across the U.S. She was working right up to a month and a half before her death.

Sharon truly had a passion for helping others. Her numerous friends all attest to her giving nature.

Her love for helping others was only surpassed by her love for animals. Over the decades, she had rescued many cats and dogs, giving them a loving home. Each summer, Sharon, with her daughter and grandson, volunteered for nearly a week at Best Friend's Animal Society in Kanab, Utah.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharlene (Aaron) Gregg, and her adored grandson, Logan Gregg.

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough" – Mae West. Sharon certainly did it right!

The family is planning a Celebration of Life Memorial in Bullhead City on Sharon's birthday Dec. 26, 2012.
