Gonzalo "Jerry" Jara, age 81, an 18-year resident of Bullhead City died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in Bullhead City, Ariz.

Jerry was born November 25, 1931 in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1950 he joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was retired from Certified Grocers of Southern California.

He was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 1005, and an usher at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church.

Jerry, you were so loved by your family and friends. You always had a smile. You will never be forgotten.

Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jane Jara; daughter, Mary Jara; son, Tracy Jara; and stepson, James Bussink.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jan Jara of Bullhead City; four sons, Michael (Beth) Jara, and John Jara, both of Stockton, Calif., Edward (Vonnie) Jara of Lompoc, Calif., and Kenneth (Darlene) Jara of Saugas, Calif.; two daughters, Kathy (Frank) Alejo of West Covina, Calif., and Thersa Ramos of Fort Worth, Texas; stepson, Joseph (Brigett) Bussink of Baumholder, Germany; stepdaughter, Jean (Curt) Cody of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, Jason and Angelina Jara of Stockton, Calif.; Drew Mitchell and Evan Jara of Saugas, Calif.; Trent and Drew Amber Hitchcock of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; and two daughters-in-law, Maria Jara and Sharon Bussink.

You always said "you were surrounded by your Angels"; now you are the Angel for all of us.

A Rosary for Jerry will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St Margaret Mary's Catholic Church, 1691 N. Oatman Road, Bullhead City, Ariz. Funeral Mass will follow with Father Peter Dombrowski officiating.

There will be a graveside service held on January 19, 2013 at the Veterans Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
