Harry M. "Bud" Holland, age 76, an 18-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz. and a local three-time Emmy award winning cameraman and retired teacher, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nev. due to a rapid onset of heath issues. He was born January 7, 1937, and was raised in Arkansas where he began his career in television at a local TV station.

Bud was drafted into the Army and continued to pursue his life long passion of working in television. After leaving the Army, Bud relocated to San Francisco, Calif. and began working for the local ABC affiliate. After a short time in San Francisco, he moved onto a job with ABC Network as a staff cameraman in Los Angeles, Calif. Bud stayed with ABC for 25 years and worked on many shows such as the Monday Night Football, General Hospital, and The Masters Golf Tournament, just to name a few. During his time at ABC, Bud was awarded his prized Emmys. One Emmy is for his work on the 1984 Summer Olympics, another for his work on the 1988 Winter Olympics, and finally one for his work on the 1994 Academy Awards.
After enjoying an exciting career with ABC, Bud retired to Bullhead City, where he began volunteering with the youth of the community. Bud filled his free time coaching football for the local Pop Warner Football league and was awarded Coach of the Year in 1998. He was instrumental in establishing Bullhead City's Channel 4 which introduced many local teens to the world of television production. After Channel 4, Bud began teaching a television class at Mohave Accelerated Learning Center (MALC) and running educational Channel 67. Last year after Bud's retirement from MALC, the school dedicated their television studio in his honor.
Bud's passion and drive for life will have everlasting effect on anyone who had the privilege to have met him. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and students.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce, 1251 Highway 95, Bullhead City, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to MALC in Bud's honor.
