~Kurt H. Brandt, age 77, of Ft Mohave, Ariz., formerly of Oshkosh, Wis., died peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2013, with his wife Judy and Pastor Gene at his side.

~Kurt attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison and Oshkosh. In 1959-1961, Kurt served with a U.S. Army intelligence unit in Germany. Kurt served with the Oshkosh Fire Department from 1962-1995 , retiring as Assistant Chief.

~Kurt served for many years as a Winnebago County Board Supervisor (1974-1982), and as Chairman of the County Parks Committee. He is Past President of the International Association of Firefighters, Past Master Counselor of DeMolay Masonic Order and was a former Elk's Exalted Ruler and Trustee.

~Kurt had a love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. After retirement, Kurt and Judy were soon lured to the desert, mountains and Colorado River valley, where they made their permanent home. Kurt was a member of Mohave Valley United Methodist Church.

~Kurt is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; daughter, Nannette Macy, Green Bay; sons, Kurt Brandt, Jr., Oshkosh and Kenneth (Diane) Brandt, Grand Rapids, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is further survived by sisters, Gretchen de Baubigny, and Barbara (Tom) Hughes; and step-sisters Marlene Gross, and Marion Allman.

~A memorial service will take place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on December 1, 2013. A memorial has been established to benefit the Oshkosh Fire Department's Fire Safety Education Program.
