Agnes Alameda Newby, age 91, a resident of Bullhead City/Mohave Valley for more than 50 years, died at home on Friday, October 18, 2013. She was born on October 16, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan.

Agnes was a church, hospital, and club volunteer, a square dancer, a member of the Desert Twirlers Square Dancers, Bermuda Club, Pink Lady, and Library.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Newby and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hearn, of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia; sons, Larry (Jackie) Newby, of Bullhead City, Ariz. and Gary Newby; granddaughters, Jennifer (Todd) Hiner, Bullhead, Ariz., Melissa (Steve) Potter, Victorville, California, Leesa (Bill) Burdette, Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, Annie (Gordy) Garza, Long Beach, California, and Tracie (Robert) Tellez, of Vancouver, Washington; grandsons, Floyd (Frances) Hearn, of Bullhead City, Ariz., Kevin Heaning, of Austin, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, Tyiler and Skyiler Hiner, Abigail, Jocelyn, and Madeline Potter, Bobby, Alisha, Alex and Andrew Burdette, Elizabeth, Ella, and Eva Garza, Cassondra and Christopher Tellez, and Tabatha and Jonny Hearn.

"Agnes was a very loving helpful lady who loved the kids, the River, and square dancing."

Viewing will be held at Desert Lawn Funeral Home at 12:30pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 with memorial service at 1:00pm and graveside service at 2:00pm. Reception to follow at D'Angelo's Italian Restaurant. Pastor Craig Freetag of Needles Calvery Chapel officiating.
