We mourn the loss, but celebrate the life of, Gene Douglas Fults, age 81, who died at home on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.

Gene was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 11, 1931. He married his high school sweetheart, Francesca, on October 17, 1950, and together they had three sons and a daughter.

Gene attended the Henry Ford Trade School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1949. He served on the USS 229 Flying Fish submarine until 1953. While in the Navy, he won the 9th Navel District championship for boxing.

After serving his country, Gene became a General Contractor in Norwalk, Calif. He retired to Bullhead City, Ariz., in 1982, where he continued to be the husband, father, and friend we will always love and miss so much.

Gene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints.

Gene was known by his family and friends for his great sense of humor and spirit of adventure. He will be greatly missed and remain forever in our hearts!

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Lona Fults; brother, Charles; and son, Rex.

He is survived by his wife, Francesca; two sons, Rick (Pam) Fults and Pat Fults; his daughter, Gina (Andy) Harris; his brother, Robert (Edwina) Fults; and loving grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 35.

Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Bullhead City Mormon Church, 1690 River Garden Dr., Bullhead City.
