HELEN L. WOOLEY
The Guest Book is expired.
Helen Lee Wooley died Friday, February 28, 2014. Bullhead City has lost a pioneer. God saw Helen was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered "come home to me".
Helen was born in Ridgefield Park, N.J. in 1918. Her early life was spent in the Eastern U.S. until her parents came to Calif. where they had a successful life in the hotel business. Helen met Hubert Wooley and they were married in Southern Calif. and later had twin sons, Gary and Terry. The family was raised in Whittier, Calif. and later when the boys were grown the family spread out with Helen ending up in Parker and then Bullhead City. It could be said she was one of the BHC pioneers. She worked many years for Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort when it was just starting to be established as a large hotel and casino.
Helen had a vision that Bullhead City would someday really flourish, so when she could, she bought some property on the main highway and opened "Helen's Happy Health Hut". After a few struggling years she retired and bought a small home and relaxed until she could no longer live alone and had to move into assisted living. Helen has enjoyed her life and worshiped her extended family and many friends in the Bullhead City area.
Helen was preceded in death by her sister and two brothers.
She is survived by two sons, Gary (Judie) and Terry (Viki); ten beloved grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Mom with tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away, although we love you dearly we could not make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands were laid to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Sunridge Village, 839 Landon Dr., Bullhead City at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
