Margie Belle Kersten Keays, age 75, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012, in Los Alamitos, Calif. due to complications from her long fight with cancer.

Margie was born September 29, 1937, in Butte, Montana, but grew up in Southern California, graduating as Olympian Girl from Leuzinger High School in 1954.

Margie received her teaching degree from CSULB, and was a beloved teacher in the ABC Unified school district for many years.

In retirement, Margie spent much time in Bullhead City, Ariz., where she enjoyed playing bridge, seeing shows, and traveling with her many friends. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Margie was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, auntie and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Keays and her brother, Donald Henry Kersten.

Margie is survived by two children, Stacey Louise Murren (David Charles Puig) and John Stanley Murren; four grandchildren, Trevor Starin Granger, Robert David Murren-Puig, Matthew Murren and Rochelle Murren; her sister, LaRae Kersten Dillman; and many nieces and nephews.

Margie will be missed greatly.

Margie's life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Heritage Memorial Services, 17712 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, Calif. (714)842.2400.
