Mary Parrish Mitchell, age 87, a long time resident of Bullhead City and Oatman, Ariz., passed away December 18, 2012 in Oatman, Ariz.
The Guest Book is expired.
Mary was born July 4, 1925, in Berkley, Calif., graduated from Santa Cruz High School, and attended UC Berkley.
Her first love was music--from classical to honky-tonk. She entertained on the piano (Mary and Rosie) at the Elks and other events, which brought her great joy. She played the organ for Hope Methodist Church services. She also played for many weddings and funerals around the area. She could play a mean polka on her accordion. Every chance she got, Mary would "jam" with her musical friends.
Mary was a Real Estate Broker in the late 60's, as well as a floral shop owner in the 70's in Bullhead City, before heading to the hills of Oatman to retire.
From her home in Oatman she gardened and watched all the critters--she even gave names to the wild ones. Through the years, she rescued and adopted many dogs and cats.
Mary is survived by a niece, Bonnie Scharnow in Jackson, Calif.; and a cousin, Ted Maddock in Watsonville, Calif.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a. m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Mohave Valley United Methodist Church, 1593 Lipan Blvd., Ft. Mohave, Ariz. Pastor Gene Stouffer will officiate.
