Virgene Christiansen McCauley, age 71, a former resident of Bullhead City, Ariz. passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 after a short battle with brain cancer.

She was born on March 6, 1941 to Clarence and Pearl Eicher Christiansen in Beloit, Wis. Virgene attended Beloit Memorial High School.
She married Dennis McCauley on November 29, 1958, and they were blessed with two children. She enjoyed exercising, politics and shopping. She was a member of, and taught, Sunday School at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Virgene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She took her role as a "stay-at-home" mom seriously.
She served as the taxi driver for various elementary school teams and as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. She was an active PTA member. She enjoyed morning trips to area rummage sales with her mother.
Her last few years were spent in a retirement community in Bullhead City, Ariz. She spent two hours a day at a gym, and several hours in the swimming pool. She was a volunteer for Bountiful Baskets. She enjoyed her time as a hostess in a buffet, as it provided many opportunities to meet new people. She loved country music and often attended concerts.
She was a patriot and proud of her country. She spent hours watching FOX News and listening to political talk radio. She loved camping and fishing, or anything else she and Dennis could do together.
Virgene is survived by her son, Jeff (Cindy) McCauley; daughter Kim (John) DeWindt; brother, Keith (Helen) Christiansen; along with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Beloit Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2535 Austin Place, Beloit, Wisc., followed by the funeral service at 2:30 P.M. Interment will be at the Newark Cemetery.
