Virginia "Ginger" Malhiot, age 79, a 29-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz. passed away with family members at her side, on Saturday, February 9, 2013, in Bullhead City, Ariz. after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born in National City, Calif. on December 26, 1933. She grew up in Long Beach, Calif. with her two sisters, Patsy Sander-Fay and Marilyn Wynne, and her mother and stepfather, Virginia and Ralph Sander.

Ginger and Ed moved to Bullhead City 29 years ago. Before retiring four years ago she managed the Bingo Department at the Avi Resort and Casino for 12 years. During that time she met many wonderful people who were attracted to her open and cheerful personality. Her extensive circle of friends from the Avi provided much needed and appreciated support during her illness.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia; stepfather, Ralph Sander; and sister, Marilyn Wynne.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward; son, Gary Malhiot of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; daughter, Sandy Malhiot of Bullhead City, Ariz.; sister, Patsy Sander-Fay, six grandchildren, Jared, Amy, Ashley, Sandy, Zachary, and Trevor; and four great-grandchildren, JP, Madison, Kayla and Anthony.

A celebration of life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Mohave Valley United Methodist Church, 1593 Lipan Blvd., Ft. Mohave, Ariz.

Ginger was loved by her family, her friends and all who knew her. She will live forever in our hearts.
