Helen Bernice Davidson Obituary
Helen Bernice Davidson was born on May 5, 1931 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. She was one of twelve children born from the union of the late Charlie McAnally and the late Nellie (Riddle) McAnally.
Helen married the love of her life, Earl Davidson, on July 16, 1949 in Middlesboro Kentucky. They moved to the Monroe area shortly after their marriage. Helen and Earl were blessed with three children. Helen worked as a bus driver for the Monroe Public Schools for 24 years, retiring in 1989. She was a strong supporter of her children's activities, including band, sports and cheerleading. She was also an avid quilter and won a blue ribbon at the Monroe County Fair for one of her quilts. Helen was also very active with her church, Monroe First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for over 20 years. Helen was also active in the Prayer Warriors' group and helped with numerous church-sponsored fundraisers. She also loved gardening as well.
Family was most important to Helen and she enjoyed cooking and spending time with all of them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen also made frequent trips to see her brothers and sisters in Tennessee. She is remembered by her family as being very strong-willed, yet very accepting of everyone.
