Perry, George M. ("Judd") - Monterey
George M. ("Judd") Perry 1938 ~ 2015 Pacific Grove, CA George M. Perry ("Judd") died peacefully with his family by his side on April 18th, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, and their two sons Judd Martin Perry (wife Barbara) and Jason Perry. He and Sharon have been residents of Pacific Grove since 1999. Judd was born in Salt Lake City, UT. He was awarded a full scholarship to Columbia University and received his A.B. degree in 196l. He then attended law school at the University of California at Berkeley ("Boalt Hall") and received his J.D. degree in 1964. During his 35-year legal career, Judd was Vice President and General Counsel for Kaiser Industries Corp. and Kaiser Steel Corp., and for the last 12 years of his practice, he was Vice President and General Council of Prodigy Services Company, a pioneer in the online service and internet technologies. During that period he was in the forefront of the development of the legal foundation for current internet law. Judd met Sharon in junior high and they continued their love for each other until the day he died. They were married in 1960, while Judd was still at Columbia, and they weathered the difficult early years of school and law practice together, forging a bond that lasted a lifetime. After he and Sharon retired to Pacific Grove, Judd devoted himself to several volunteer organizations. He was deeply interested in environmental and conservation issues. He volunteered as a guide at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a Docent at Pt. Lobos State Nature Reserve. He served on the Board of Directors of the Pt. Lobos Foundation and also as President of that organization for 3 years. He was one of the founding Directors of the Museum Foundation of Pacific Grove and served on the Board of Directors for more than 6 years. Prior to the formation of that Foundation, he served on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History Association for 5 years. Gratefully, Judd lived a full, active and rewarding life until his last three days. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at CHOMP for their outstanding care and kindness. The celebration of Judd's life will be a private one. Memorial contributions may be made on his behalf to either the Pt. Lobos Foundation, P.O. Box 221789, Carmel, CA 93922, or the Museum Foundation of Pacific Grove, 65 Forest Ave., Pacific Grove, CA 93950.
