December 27, 1958 ~ May 15, 2006 MARINA - Anecito "Chito" Bautista, Jr., 47, passed away Monday, May 15, 2006 after two years of battling cancer. Chito was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 27, 1958 and has lived in Marina, CA for the past 29 years. Music was a great part of Chito's life. He would play his guitar almost every day and played the keyboard too. He didn't read notes -
people were amazed as they listened and watched him play. The common
response would be that Chito is one of the best guitarists they've ever heard. He also had a natural ability to fix or build things around the
home, i.e., electrical, plumbing, construction work. He was also technically inclined, computers were easy for him. Chito graduated from Monterey High School in 1977 and continued on to Heald College of Business. For Chito, being at work was also one of his passions - his
co-workers at Cal-Am Water became an extension of his family. Chito had a unique sense of humor - witty and crazy - one couldn't
help but laugh. Most importantly, Chito maintained a positive attitude
throughout his journey, trying anything in hopes of curing his Leukemia. He never complained. The nurses who treated him said it was their honor to be his nurse and that Chito had a beautiful soul. Chito was a private and peaceful person. Loving and generous with
everyone, he had no expectations of anyone. Chito was very creative: it
showed in his humor, his makeshift tools, his music and solving problems. Chito loved his family and friends. He was always concerned
about everyone else first. Chito will be greatly missed by all who were blessed by his presence.
