PACIFIC GROVE - Edward Savage passed away October 25, 2012 at the age of 89. Born in South Portland, Maine, he graduated from Northeastern University and served as an Electronic Technician and was one of the Navy's first Radar Technicians in Submarines during WWII, earning the Bronze Star for his service on USS CARP (SS 338) and rising to the rank of Chief. Continuing in the electronics field, he worked as a field engineer and instructor for IBM for over 35 years. Following retirement in Pacific Grove in 1983, he taught computer programming classes at Monterey Peninsula College and Pacific Grove Adult School and sponsored international students from the Navy Post Graduate School. His wife, Lore, passed away in 2010. He is survived by his sons, David and Paul and daughters, Carol and Jane.
