George Mychajluk(1922 - 2013)

MONTEREY – George Mychajluk was born on March 23, 1922, formally of Monterey and recently Petaluma, CA, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2013.
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, joined the US Army through the Lodge Act in Germany and served our country for 20 years as First Sergeant. Involved with WWII, Korea, and Vietnam conflicts for which he was decorated with 14 medals: Bronze Star of Valor with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge to list a few. After military retirement he worked 29 years for the Defense Language Institute as a Professor in Russian language at the Washington, D.C. and Monterey branch.
He is loved and missed by his wife Ursula Miller; his four children, Dorothea Michalik, Roxolana Threet, Christopher Mychajluk, and Stephanie Threet; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, 31 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 1370 S Novato Blvd, Novato, CA at 1:00 pm.
