Howard Burdett Buck

CARMEL VALLEY - Howard Burdett Buck passed away at the age of 63 on January 1, 2013 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Candace Buck; stepson, Robert Davis; brother, George Buck; sister, Sharon Carpenter; his mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, six nieces, four nephews, seven great-nephews, and four great-nieces.
Howard was born June 11, 1949 in Washington, D.C. and moved to Carmel, CA at the age of 13. He graduated from Carmel High School and attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He later obtained his contractor license. Howard moved to Carmel Valley where he and his close friend, Rod deLeon, established a local contractor's business, Buck and deLeon Contractors, which has been servicing the Peninsula for 36 years. Howard enjoyed watching baseball, football, hunting, talking amongst friends before work, and mostly, spending time with his wife.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, George Wesley Buck and Helen Joan Buck.
Services honoring Howard Buck will be held at the Mission Mortuary in Monterey this Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:00pm. Any donations may either be sent to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRI) at 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 or donated to MMRI online. Any flower arrangements may please be delivered to Mission Mortuary.
