Hyo Jea "Margie" Davis
March 7, 1938 ~ July 13, 2012
SEASIDE - Hyo Jea Davis was born in Korea, in "the year of the tiger". She met Frank Lee Davis on assignment with the military and they were married in Korea. They had three sons. Following Frank's retirement they came to Marina in the 70s. Margie became a dealer at Mortimer's, retiring in 2009, following 40 years of service.
She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April, 2011. Throughout her treatments, Margie remained positive and wanted to help those closest to her. She received the best care possible and fought long and hard for life. When it was her time to go, she passed gracefully with family by her side. To all, whose lives have been touched by cancer, remember that death is not the winner. The victory goes to those who fight the good fight and prevail. Margie prevailed over man and the world and yielded unto the Lord of Heaven, AMEN.
Many thanks extended to the medical team, including Drs. Bradley, Tamler, Kruszynska, Park, with special thanks to all the assistants, therapists, valets, the many doctors and nurses in the ER and everyone at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, and most especially the nurses on Terrace West that gave her the best care ever. May the Lord bless you all.
Hyo Jea is survived by her sons, Frank, Mike and William, along with grandchildren, Patrick, Drew, Robert and Quentin; also great granddaughter, Marina.
A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena St., Seaside, Friday, August 3, 2012 at 2:00pm.
