HOLLISTER – Jack J. Favalora, 85, passed away Tuesday, June 11 with his family by his side. A native of Monterey, Jack worked most of his life as a commercial fisherman on the Monterey Peninsula and was the captain of the fishing vessel "The Angelina," named after his mother, and later owned "The CoreyDon," named after his two grandsons at the time. Jack served in the Navy at the end of World War II
and was a reservist for three years. He belonged to the Elks club
and the Italian Catholic Federation. He loved music, singing and playing his mandolin.
Jack is survived by his wife, Rebecca of 64 years; daughters, Jackie Moorehead and Julie (Sung) Han; grandchildren, Donald Moorehead, Crystal and Ryan Han; and brother, Frank Favalora. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ignacio and John Favalora; sister, Rose Castaldo; and beloved grandson, Corey Sanders.
A memorial service will be held at The Paul Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
