MONTEREY – Klaus Juergen Berger, 76, of Monterey, California passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. He is at peace and no longer battling Alzheimer's.
Klaus was born April 7, 1937 in Kassel, Germany, spending early childhood in Berlin, Germany. He was the son of Liselotte Berger and Alfred Matscke. Klaus moved with his mother and sister, Gisela, at age 16 to Lawton, OK then to Monterey CA, attending Monterey Peninsula College. He served in the U.S. Army
for two years in Orleans, France then returning to Monterey. After entering the cable television industry in Salinas, CA, Klaus made a renown, national reputation for himself in the SF Bay Area, New York, NY, Atlanta GA, and Brussels Belgium in the cable television arena. After retirement, he contributed his talents to the Titus Park Swimming & Tennis club in Salinas, CA.
Klaus was a man of many talents; an engineer,
an artist, most importantly a loving and supportive father. He will be missed by his daughters Renee
Olsson, Kara Castruita (deceased) and Lisa McEuen; his sisters Gisela Harris, Renate Leonhardt; his nephews Gregory Harris, Douglas Huggins; his grandchildren Jani McEuen, Ashley King, David McEuen, Nicole Allison, Victoria Castruita, Bryce Rogers, Carden and Walker Olsson, friends and his former wife, Patricia Berger.
