Richard (Dick) M. Hardin(1932 ~ 2014)

CARMEL, CA – Richard M. Hardin, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer.
Richard was born in Hollister, CA to A. Marshall Hardin and Viella C. Butterfield in 1932. After serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict and attending college, Richard owned and operated the Carmel Pipe Shop for over 43 years. He always loved the opportunity the shop gave him to visit with old friends and meet new friends from around the world.
He was a member of the Carmel Kiwanis Club and Carmel Business Association for many years. Richard also enjoyed serving as an usher at Carmel Presbyterian Church. His favorite pastime was walking the Carmel beach path with his wife.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Juliette Hardin; son, John M. (Kelley) Hardin of Pacific Grove; daughters, Natalie Hardin of Carmel, Nancy (Richard) Temple of Pleasanton, CA; three grandchildren, Wesley, Grace, Christopher; and a brother, John A. Hardin of Hollister, CA.
