William Barraza Obituary

Monterey
William Richard "RB" Barraza, a native of Watsonville, passed away on January 6.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jacqueline; his mother, Carmen Shaw; his siblings, Manuel (Lucy) Gomez, Greg Noga and Sammy Barraza; his sister-in- law, Becky Currie; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Jack. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Barraza; his brother, Johnathan Farrelly and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at the Mayflower Church in Pacific Grove this Thursday, January 18 at 10:00 followed by burial at El Carmelo Cemetery, also in Pacific Grove. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the PGHS Track and Field/Cross Country program (615 Sunset, Pacific Grove, CA, 93950) which RB loved and for which he served as an assistant coach. I was so saddened and grieved to hear of Richard's death. I will always remember him as a man who deeply loved and served his God. What an example of how to walk out the Christian life! I know he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May the Lord put His loving arms of comfort and strength around the family, now and always.

I cannot believe this. I am stunned. We pastored with Richard and Jackie at Monterey Family Community Church. I am extending my thoughts and prayers to Richard's family especially Jackie and Carmen.

I was so sorry to hear of Richard's passing. I remember Richard from our youthful days sy Pacific Grove High School. Richard was always such a really nice guy and friend to many.

I knew and liked Richard since I met him in 7th grade; he was always pleasant, funny, and helpful. And of course he was a great runner. I saw him only rarely after high school, but whenever we bumped into each other we'd have a great chat, with lots of laughs about old times. I remember that he had a good singing voice: in our 7th grade chorus class, he was given the lead as a gypsy prince in some comic musical we put on. I'll always have fond memories of him.
