Frank Joseph Silva Obituary
SALINAS – Frank Joseph Silva, 95, a long time resident of Salinas, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Angie and his brother, Tony Silva.
He is survived by his son Frank (Sally) Silva, Doreen Gruenznar; his grandchildren Andrea (Matt), Jonathan (Alisha), Tracy Lawhon; his great-grandson Dennis Krueger; his sister Marie Vierra (Harry) of San Jose; and several nieces and nephews.
Frank enjoyed farming. His inspiration came from his grandfather Manuel Cunha, who farmed off of Espinosa Road in the 1920's and 1930's until retiring in 1975.
After retiring, Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife. They traveled the tri-state area lakes, went fishing with friends, took a cruise to Alaska, and visited Angie's sister in Portugal. They also enjoyed dancing and family gatherings. They frequented the Elks Lodge and I.D.E.S. and belonged to the CalFarm Bureau and the Brotherhood of St. Anthony.
Visitation will be held from1:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Alta Vista Mortuary, 41 East Alisal Street, Salinas, CA 93901
Rosary will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Alta Vista Mortuary, 41 East Alisal Street, Salinas, CA 93901
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church, 1 Railroad Avenue, Spreckels, CA 93962
Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA 93901
