Frank Mattison Morgan MD Obituary
A Great Gentleman

Carmel, CA – Dr. Morgan will be fondly remembered by his patients as their friend, confidant and courageous advocate for their health. Dr. Morgan was always there for his patients, day or night, often making house-calls to selflessly ensure his and his colleagues patients well-being.
Dr. Morgan served the country during World War II in the United States Navy as a doctor at Mare Island Naval Base in the San Francisco Bay. Dr. Morgan was very proud of his service to his country during this difficult period in world history.
Dr. Morgan started his private practice of medicine in Southern California. He served the community there for 30 years holding the position of Chief of Staff for Glendale Community Memorial Hospital and President of Los Angeles County Medical Association. After the passing of his first wife, Jean, Dr. Morgan moved to Carmel where he started his second practice of Internal Medicine. Dr. Morgan served the Monterey Peninsula community from offices in Carmel Valley, Monterey and the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP). Dr. Morgan was happy to interpret EKGs for CHOMP.
Dr. Morgan was a devoted husband and is survived by his second wife, Anne-Laure; the children of his first wife, Ann and Scott; his grandchildren, Megan and Wyatt; and his great grandchildren, Miranda, and Ian.
Dr. Morgan exemplified the definition of the Renaissance Man: scholar, inventor, artist, chef, gardener, equestrian, pianist, world traveler and tennis player. His humor, passion, creations and generosity blessed all those he knew and had the occasion to meet.
The world was a better place while Dr. Morgan walked among us. He will be somberly missed by all.
