Jack Butler Obituary
MONTEREY, CA – Jack Butler, born under the name John Francis Butler III on September 28, 1953 unexpectedly passed away June 28, 2014 at the age of 60. In his final recent years he resided in Southern California, however to him his home and heart will always be on the Monterey Peninsula. He held a successful and passionate life-long career in mechanical engineering, after having served in the Army from 1971 to 1974. He leaves behind a large family and four children he was unconditionally and openly proud of. He was an extremely dedicated and incredibly loving father, who was willing to go the ends of the earth for his kids and his loved ones. With a sense of humor that never turned off, he would do anything at any time to bring a smile to your face and remind you to laugh at yourself. The extent of lives and hearts he touched is beyond measure, and so is the legacy he leaves behind of a life lived to the fullest. . . Just ask him.
Jack was beloved father to sons, Aaron Erwin, twins John Francis IV Butler and Robert Kenneth Butler (Brittany Lynch), and daughter, Sarah Desiree Louise Butler. He was former spouse to Wendy Logan, and former brother-in-law to Lora Logan and Kathy Towner. He was adoring grandfather to Cain Michael Butler and Gunnar John Butler. He was the son of Joyce Denk Butler and the late John Francis Butler Jr.; dear brother to Luanne (Silvio) Mossa, and uncle to Lindsey Gulya, Nicholas, Joseph and Alexandra Mossa, Kenneth, Kevin and Stacey McAndrews, Jamie Grayson, Jonathan Jones, Robert Janis, Nathan Evans, Jennifer Keefe (Cantore) and Jason Keefe.
A memorial celebration of life will be held on July 26, 2014 at the Monterey American Legion Post 41 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in Monterey.
