SALINAS – Robert R. Blalock passed away at his home on January 10, 2014 with his daughters at his side after a brief illness at the age of 91. He was born in Hot Springs, New Mexico on December 19, 1922.|
Bob served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He enjoyed a long career as a Salinas businessman and office product equipment salesman and owner.
He was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in North Salinas, Meals on Wheels, Active Seniors, Fly Fishing Club and Salinas Aquatic Center.
His love for family, friends, church and community was a source for a lifetime of love and satisfaction, making him a friend and family to all who knew him.
Bob's passions for fishing, travel and bird watching took him on many adventures. He also found much enjoyment in swimming and great food.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Gertrude F. Blalock.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Lynne (Andy) Aquino of Hilo, Hawaii and Julie (Jim) Blalock-Hopkinson of Sacramento, CA; sons, Russell (Donnah) Blalock of Monmouth, Oregon and Steve (Lili) Blalock of Monterey, CA; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 315 Alvin Dr., Salinas, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northminster Presbyterian Church, 315 Alvin Dr., Salinas, CA.
