MARINA - Bombie Antonio passed away on October 26, 2010 at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, at age 65. He was born December 14, 1944, in the Philippines to Patrick and Elisa Antonio. Bombie came to California in 1961 and graduated from Monterey High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Fil-Am Community Club of Seaside and Marina for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion in Marina. In his spare time, Bombie enjoyed bowling, fishing and going on trips to the Chukchansi and Thunder Valley casinos.
Bombie is survived by his wife, Ophie; his brothers, Reynaldo (Zenaida) of Antelope, Jesse (Valerie) of Tracy, Charles of Vallejo and his sister, Teresita (Rudolfo) Habon of Fairfield. Also, he leaves four nephews; three nieces; four great-nephews and four great-nieces. He was preceded in death by father, Patrick and mother, Elisa and sister, Loreta.
Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, October 31, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (Vigil) and Monday, and November 1, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (Vigil and Rosary at 7:00 p.m.) at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena Street, Seaside. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1475 La Salle Avenue, Seaside, on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mission Memorial Park with a reception at St. Francis Xavier parish hall.
