CARMEL?VALLEY, CA – Burris Bly Gillis, a lifelong resident of California, died on January 27, 2014 at the age of 95. She was born May 10, 1918 in Fullerton, California.

Burris graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco and the University of California at Berkeley where she met her husband, Lyman Gillis. They were married 66 years before he died in 2006. They were members of Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento and The Golf Club at Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley. Survivors include: her daughters, Carol Crigler and Marti Agler; her grandchildren, Jason and Marjorie Crigler and Ellen and David Agler; her great-grandchildren, Jordan and Addison Agler, Ellie Crigler, and Calissa Parrott; and her brother, Edwin Bly.
Burris loved the Carmel outdoors, card and board games, and visits with family and friends. The family's heartfelt thanks go to the staff at Carmel Valley Manor Health Center for their loving care.
